"It Takes a Year to Get to Know Me" is a web3 music project integrating a series of 12 monthly song releases with the blockchain. We're establishing the completed music project as the "It Takes a Year" DAO, highlighting an important cross section of entertainment and technology being the first official album released as a DAO. The DAO will be established through a series of NFT collections connected with the release of each song in the project, giving holders the opportunity earn passively through music streaming/licensing royalties and governance over the DAOs treasury through the distribution of our official token.

WEB3 + DAO OVERVIEW

An NFT (NON-FUNGIBLE TOKEN) is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency, and they are generally encoded with the same underlying software as many cryptos.
A DAO (DECENTRALIZED AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZATION) is a decentralized non-hierarchical organizations that use blockchain technology to encode their set of rules, for instance who can join and how its treasury gets distributed. It’s a place where like-minded individuals can come together, pool resources, talent, and relationships to build a sustainable community where token holders can participate in the DAO’s cultural and financial growth.
